Residential Watering Restrictions: Under
a declared Drought Response Level Two, outdoor water use may occur on scheduled
days between the hours of midnight and 10AM.
Scheduled days for odd-numbered addresses are Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.
Scheduled days for even-numbered addresses are Mondays. Wednesday and Saturdays.
The following uses are prohibited under Level Two: Using hydrants for any purpose other than firefighting, public health or flushing; Washing hard surfaces, such as streets, gutter, sidewalks and driveways except when necessary for public health and safety.
Asphalt Plant and Quarry Meeting: Homeowners met with representatives of the LaFarge Quarry and Matthews Construction Company on 20 May and shared concerns over the operation of both facilities. As a result of the meeting, LaFarge has agreed to limit operating hours not to exceed 10:00 PM. Representatives indicated that once the current I-185 project is complete, operating hours will likely be further reduced. LeFarge will also look at options for reducing the impact of blasting on the community and the reduction of contaminates in the air. The meeting was held at the Pierce Chapel United Methodist Church. A follow-up meeting will be held after three months to determine any future actions.
Crime Alert: Homeowners should be especially careful to set their burglar alarms when they’re away from their homes. Report suspicious activity to the Harris County Sheriff's Department.
Coca Lake Newsletters: If you have news, or an item of interest, please send it to newsletter@cocalake.org and we'll try to get it in the next issue.
